On his way to work one Monday morning, Elliott stops to watch the construction of a new skyscraper being built on the site of an old familiar landmark hotel. While Elliott’s standing there, a body smashes down onto the cement not ten feet from him. No doubt the guy is way beyond help, having fallen from the fifteenth floor, but Elliott is asked by the dead man’s wife to look into what the police are calling a tragic accident. Could it have been murder? We’ll see.

Read all the multi-packs and shorts packs long ago, since 2012. The author has gotten better with age/practice. I've read almost all of the Cooper stories (1 - 230) and several of Mr. Bernico's short stories and most have not disappointed me. You'll find some poorly written or predictable stories, but for the most part they are fair to good. The Cooper series are better, but there's a few stinkers, too. They're great for a coffee break or a few minutes to relax.Product details

good job worth reading
I expected a quick read and got that. It was a nice diversion for the afternoon and I will read more books by Bill Bernico.
